Resumen visual: A designer places a product photo on a canvas, its background disappears, and colour shapes snap into a finished poster. The only promotional words are Gobostock and Design Studio.

One canvas instead of five tools

Most design jobs are small: a poster for an event, a set of social posts, a product shot on a clean background, a sticker sheet, a banner. Each one usually means hopping between a stock site, a background remover, an upscaler and a layout tool, downloading and re-uploading the same file along the way.

Design Studio puts those steps on one canvas. You pick a size, bring in stock or your own images, clean them up with AI tools, arrange everything with layers, and export the finished file. The canvas itself is free with an account; AI actions such as background removal or upscaling use plan credits, and the exact credit price is shown before anything runs.

Start from the right size

Open Design Studio and create a design from a preset or exact pixel dimensions. Decide the destination first: a 1080 × 1350 social post, a 16:9 slide, a print poster and a cut file for a vinyl cutter all lead to different layout decisions.

A design can hold several pages, each with its own background. Use pages for a carousel, a set of story frames, or the front and back of a flyer, so related layouts stay in one project and share the same assets.

Bring in stock and your own media

The side rail browses the Gobostock library by asset type: photos, SVG files, vectors, icons, transparent PNGs, illustrations and validated cut files. Choosing the type first matters. A photo and an SVG of the same subject behave very differently once you resize, recolour or cut them.

You can also upload your own JPEG, PNG, WebP or SVG files. Only use images you have the rights to, and keep the original files: the canvas is a place to compose, not your only copy.

Clean up images with AI

Three tools cover the most common clean-up work:

  1. Remove background. The mask is worked out on a smaller copy, softened, and then applied to the full-resolution original, so the cutout keeps its detail instead of being shrunk.
  2. Layerize. One eligible image is separated into transparent layers you can move independently, for example a subject, its shadow and the background. Gobostock checks that the layers stacked back together still match the original.
  3. Upscale. Transparent cutouts are upscaled 2× or 4× from their opaque parent, then the original edge mask is reapplied, which keeps edges clean where a normal upscale would leave a halo.

Each tool shows its credit price before it runs. Try one image first, check the edges at full zoom, then repeat the same step across a set.

Create and convert SVG

For logos, icons, stickers and anything that must stay sharp at every size, work in SVG. Generate scalable artwork from a prompt, or convert a raster image into an SVG, then recolour, resize, rotate, duplicate and arrange it alongside the rest of the design.

SVG editing in the canvas works on whole shapes and groups. It does not include node or path editing, so plan bigger changes to a shape before converting it.

Arrange with layers

Every object sits in the Layers panel. Rename layers so a busy design stays readable, lock the background so it does not move while you work above it, and use alignment to line up text and images with the page edges or with each other. The project saves automatically as you go.

A few habits keep layouts clean:

  • Leave a margin around the edges, especially for social posts where app controls cover the corners.
  • Give text strong contrast against what sits behind it, and check it at the size it will actually be seen.
  • Use one or two typefaces and a small palette; repetition is what makes a set of designs look like a series.

Export for the job

Export pages as PNG, JPG, WebP or SVG. PNG keeps transparency, JPG is the smallest for photos, WebP suits the web, and SVG keeps vector artwork sharp.

For Cricut or Silhouette work, choose the cut-ready SVG profile. It checks the file for raster images, text, external references, filters, masks, unsupported clipping, pattern fills and strokes a cutter cannot follow, and only labels the file cut-ready when every check passes. Even then, run a small test cut before using expensive material.

Where to go next

Need an image the library does not have? Generate one in the image studio, then bring it onto the canvas. For campaigns that need a strategy before the visuals, see the Ads Studio guide.
