Why edit AI-generated clips

An AI generation is raw material, not necessarily the finished video. The strongest moment may last only a few seconds, the framing may not match the destination, or several generations may need to become one sequence. Video Studio brings those finishing steps into a browser workspace.

The editor is designed around local browser processing for supported operations. Your device therefore has a major effect on export speed and the size of project it can handle. Save important source files separately and begin with a short project while learning the workflow.

Start with a clear project

Open Video Studio and add a video from your assets or device. Give the project a descriptive name and identify the intended output before editing. A 16:9 presentation video, 9:16 social clip, and square marketplace preview require different framing decisions.

When you add multiple clips, place them in narrative order before polishing individual transitions. A simple structure is often enough:

1. Establish the subject.
2. Show the most important action.
3. End on a stable result or message.

Trim and arrange clips

Use trim controls to remove weak frames at the beginning or end of a generation. Shortening pauses makes motion feel intentional and reduces export size. Arrange clips on the timeline, check their offsets, and preview the full sequence from the beginning after every structural change.

When clips overlap, layer order determines which visual is primary. Keep the timeline readable: use separate layers only when you intend to composite or synchronize elements.

Adapt the frame

Choose an aspect ratio that matches the publishing destination. Cropping a landscape generation into a vertical frame can remove important details, so reposition the subject and preview the full motion rather than checking only one still frame.

Rotation and flipping are useful corrections, but a horizontal flip can reverse readable text, logos, or directional actions. Inspect the result before export.

Control timing and sound

Speed adjustments can turn a slow animation into a concise transition or make a fast action easier to read. Extreme changes may reveal interpolation artifacts, so use them deliberately.

Mute clips when the source sound is unnecessary, inconsistent, or not licensed for the final use. If you combine several clips with audio, preview volume changes at every cut. Video Studio also supports audio-oriented operations as the workspace evolves, but browser and format support can vary.

Add text that remains readable

Use text overlays for titles, labels, or a short call to action. Keep text inside safe margins and use high contrast. Avoid covering faces or the main action. For vertical and square exports, check that platform controls will not obscure text near the edges.

Text should add information rather than repeat every visible action. For accessibility, provide captions or a transcript when speech or essential sound carries meaning.

Export and review

Before exporting, play the sequence from beginning to end and verify timing, crop, text, sound, and layer visibility. Choose an output that balances visual quality with practical file size. H.264 MP4 is broadly compatible for general delivery.

Browser export can use significant memory. If a long project fails, close other heavy tabs, shorten the sequence, reduce the output resolution, or export smaller sections. Keep the page open while processing.

Finally, watch the exported file outside the editor. Confirm the first frame, final frame, audio, duration, and aspect ratio on the actual device or platform where it will be used.
