Gobostock Contributor Terms
These terms govern media you submit for marketplace review, usage rights licensed to buyers, Creator Share on Net License Revenue, and cash-out of your earnings.
Version 2026-09-25-us-tax-withholding - Last updated September 25, 2026
The contributor program is paused: new submissions and cash-outs are closed, and the catalog is free to download. These terms still govern anything submitted, licensed, or earned under them. Questions: contact@gobostock.com.
1. Agreement and eligibility
These Contributor Terms are part of the Gobostock Terms of Use. By submitting an asset for review, you confirm that you have read and accepted the version shown at submission. You must be at least 18 years old and legally able to enter this agreement.
If you submit for a company or another rights holder, you confirm that you have authority to bind that party. Gobostock may require identity, tax, address, or payout verification before accepting submissions or releasing earnings.
You represent that you, and any company you contribute for, are not named on, owned or controlled by, or acting for a person named on a US government sanctions or export-restriction list, and are not located, organized, or ordinarily resident in a country or region subject to comprehensive US sanctions. You must tell Gobostock promptly if this changes.
2. Ownership and license to Gobostock
These terms do not transfer copyright you do not have. US copyright in fully AI-generated visual output often does not exist. You still grant Gobostock the contractual marketplace usage grant below so buyers can receive a Content License even when copyright is thin or absent.
Fully AI (no meaningful human visual authorship). You may have no US copyright in the pixels. You are not transferring a copyright you do not have. You grant Gobostock a contractual right to host, sell usage rights, and sublicense the file and, when available, the Generation Recipe.
Human-authored contribution. If you made a substantial visual edit, used your own photograph or artwork as input, or created an original arrangement that may be protected, you keep whatever copyright exists in your contribution and license that contribution to Gobostock on the same operational terms.
In every case you grant Gobostock a non-exclusive, worldwide, sublicensable, transferable (to affiliates and successors) marketplace usage grant to operate the paid publication channel described in Section 5. The grant covers accepted assets and the metadata, captions, titles, tags, and related materials you supply with them. The grant covers copyright if any exists, and contract rights if none exists.
Under this license, Gobostock may reproduce, copy, inspect, process, resize, watermark, encode, package, publicly display, market, distribute, license, and sublicense accepted assets to customers; include Commercial assets in paid products; and create technical derivatives needed for review, discovery, delivery, and protection. Gobostock may use watermarked previews and reasonable excerpts to market the marketplace, but this does not authorize distribution of a Commercial file as a free standalone asset.
For generated assets, the materials licensed to buyers include the downloadable media file (the "Licensed File") and, when available, the prompt, model, and recorded settings shown at purchase (the "Generation Recipe"). Gobostock excludes storage keys, source URLs, private references, job identifiers, cloned-voice recordings, transcripts, reusable voice identifiers, and biometric inputs.
End-user licenses Gobostock grants to buyers remain subject to the Gobostock Content License (or other buyer terms stated at purchase), including the AI-training and third-party model restrictions in that license. Your grant to Gobostock is broader than any single buyer license and is intended to let Gobostock operate and evolve the marketplace and related products.
The license continues while an asset is listed. After delisting or termination, Gobostock may continue (a) licenses and paid products already granted to end users, (b) delivery and support needed for those existing licenses, and (c) retention needed for financial records, dispute resolution, fraud prevention, legal compliance, and secure backups. Gobostock will stop offering new standalone downloads after delisting is processed.
3. Submission and review rules
For every asset, you represent and warrant that:
- You own the asset or control all rights needed to submit it, or you grant the contractual usage rights described in Section 2 even if US copyright in AI output is unavailable.
- The file, title, caption, category, tags, location, capture information, and authorship attestation are accurate.
- You have valid model and property releases whenever commercial use requires them.
- For audio, you control commercial distribution rights in the finished result and accurately declare whether a voice is synthetic/preset, your own consented voice, or an authorized third-party voice.
- An authorized third-party cloned voice has a valid release that Gobostock can verify; self-voice submissions retain the recorded self-consent.
- The exact provider and model version is eligible for resale under Gobostock's current provider registry.
- You have not granted, and will not grant, anyone the right to use the asset to train, fine-tune, or develop AI models in a way that conflicts with the Content License or the generating model's provider terms.
- The asset does not infringe copyright, trademark, privacy, publicity, confidentiality, or other third-party rights.
- The asset does not contain illegal, exploitative, deceptive, hateful, or otherwise prohibited material.
- You have not uploaded malware, hidden payloads, corrupted files, or content intended to bypass review.
At every Commercial publish you must complete a required authorship attestation: fully AI; AI plus your edits; or includes your own photo, art, or other input that you own or have a release for. Prompt-only direction is not enough to establish copyright. You must disclose generative AI and material synthetic edits. Gobostock may inspect metadata, create technical derivatives, use automated review, request supporting files, and reject, pause, or delist any asset. Submission does not guarantee acceptance, placement, sales, or income.
4. Editorial submission standards
Editorial classification is limited to authentic, uploaded still photographs documenting a newsworthy, cultural, or public-interest subject. Generative AI images, generated additions, deceptive compositing, and edits that change the factual meaning are not eligible.
- Provide a factual caption that identifies what is shown without speculation.
- Provide the actual capture date and sufficiently accurate location.
- Do not remove or add people, objects, signs, logos, or material scene details.
- Disclose permissible tonal, crop, dust-removal, or privacy edits when requested.
- Preserve the original file and metadata so Gobostock can verify authenticity.
Gobostock may require enhanced identity verification or proof that you captured the image. An editorial review does not guarantee that every buyer use is lawful; buyers remain bound by the Editorial License.
5. Publishing, pricing, and Creator Share
Contributor submissions are accepted only for paid Commercial licensing, or paid Editorial licensing where the applicable submission workflow expressly allows it. Gobostock does not provide contributors with a free-listing submission channel.
Accepted contributor assets may be marketed through watermarked previews and offered in eligible paid products. These terms do not authorize distribution of a contributor's Licensed File as a free standalone stock download.
Gobostock alone sets and may change cash prices, credit prices, price tiers, product formats, bundles, packages, subscriptions, and catalogs for Commercial assets. Buyers may pay with cash or credits where offered. The applicable price, credit value, license or product type, creator-share rate, and policy version are recorded when each purchase or product sale is completed.
40%
Standard creator share
Ordinary individual marketplace licenses for commercial images, commercial video, and editorial images outside an active promotion.
Up to 80%
Founding Editorial promotion
Only eligible editorial images, approved contributors, and ordinary individual sales made during the published promotion period.
Creator share for a paid bundle, package, subscription, or catalog may be lower than the standard RateCard rates above, including a percentage of attributable Net License Revenue. Commercial assets are not placed into a zero-price product through this clause. The purchase or product record controls.
Gobostock may display watermarked previews and reasonable excerpts to market an accepted asset and the marketplace without a separate Creator Share payment. This preview permission does not permit distribution of the Commercial file as a free standalone download.
"Net License Revenue" means license revenue Gobostock actually receives after indirect tax, actual payment-processing fees, refunds, and chargebacks. It does not deduct Gobostock's ordinary staffing, hosting, marketing, or review expenses. For packages, subscriptions, or other multi-asset products, attributable Net License Revenue is the amount Gobostock allocates to that asset under its then-current allocation policy.
A promotional Creator Share applies only when your dashboard identifies you as eligible and displays the promotion end date. The purchase or product record controls if marketing copy and account information conflict. Changing a future rate does not recalculate a completed purchase. Creator Share is product language for the recorded split of Net License Revenue. For US tax withholding and information reporting, Gobostock treats Creator Share as a royalty paid for the right to use the licensed materials, as described in Section 10.
6. Visibility, search, and ranking
Approval makes an asset eligible for its applicable collection; it does not guarantee a search position, homepage placement, impressions, downloads, sales, or income. Gobostock may rank and curate assets using relevance, metadata and technical quality, freshness, customer engagement, category diversity, safety, and commercial suitability.
Gobostock does not promise that every approved asset will appear on every browse, search, contributor, collection, recommendation, or topic surface. Ranking and placement may change as the catalog, customer demand, safety review, and product experience change.
7. Earnings, holds, and payouts
Cash-sale and member-checkout creator earnings are recorded in USD. When a signed-in member licenses an asset with account credits, Gobostock records your Creator Share at the stored USD value of those credits and adds it to the same dollar ledger as card sales. New eligible earnings remain pending for 14 days to cover refunds, payment reversals, fraud review, and other marketplace risk before becoming available for payout. Gobostock may pause or reject a cash-out if your payout setup is incomplete or if platform funds are insufficient to complete the transfer. Studio generation credits are a separate product wallet and cannot be withdrawn as cash.
Cash-out after a $100 minimum, in most countries
When cash payouts are enabled on your account, you may request a cash-out after at least $100 is available. Payout setup (country, payout details, and tax form) is offered only after that same $100 cash-eligible minimum. Cash-out is limited to 1 request per UTC calendar month and opens on the 1st. Fees are taken from the requested amount: a Gobostock cash-out fee of $2.00 plus the sending cost for your payout route, both shown before you confirm, together with any US tax withheld under Section 10. Setting up payouts does not add a separate platform charge. Earnings stay in USD and are not converted into Gobostock generation credits.
How you are paid
At payout setup you choose the country where you live and pay tax. That country decides how you are paid:
- Through Stripe: in the United States, the United Kingdom, the European Union, Norway, Liechtenstein, Canada, and Switzerland, Stripe opens a payout account for you in your country, verifies your identity and bank account, and pays your cash-outs into your bank.
- Sent by Gobostock: in other countries, you give Gobostock bank transfer, Wise, or PayPal details. Gobostock reviews each cash-out request and normally sends it within 5 business days. Payouts are sent in US dollars; any conversion into your account's currency happens on the receiving side.
- Not available: Gobostock cannot pay creators who live in Cuba, Iran, North Korea, Syria, Russia, or Belarus, in a region under comprehensive US sanctions, or who are named on a US sanctions list. Earnings stay in your USD balance while payouts are unavailable.
Sending costs
The sending cost is an estimate for each payout route. The amount you confirm is the amount Gobostock sends: if the actual cost differs from the estimate, Gobostock bears the difference.
- Bank account through Stripe, United States
- 0.25% + $0.25
- Bank account through Stripe, other countries
- 0.5% + $0.25
- Bank transfer sent by Gobostock
- 1% + $5.00
- Wise, sent by Gobostock
- 1% + $1.00
- PayPal, sent by Gobostock
- 2%, at most $20
- Payout setup is offered after you reach the cash-out minimum in cash-eligible available earnings.
- Cash-out is limited to one request per UTC calendar month and opens on the 1st.
- New eligible cash earnings remain pending for the 14-day hold before they can be requested.
- Requested funds are reserved while processed and cannot be requested twice.
- Before your first cash-out you must have a valid tax form on file, as described in Section 10, unless Stripe collects your US tax details.
- You must keep your payout details accurate. Gobostock is not responsible for a payout sent to details you entered. A payout returned because of wrong details is sent again after you correct them, less any fees the sending services kept.
- Changing your payout country removes your saved payout details, and a tax form certified for your old country no longer counts.
- Requests may be delayed, rejected, returned, or retried for incomplete identity, tax, or payout information, sanctions, fraud risk, provider restrictions, disputes, or legal requirements.
- Your bank, intermediary banks, or the receiving service may deduct receiving, intermediary, currency-conversion, or local fees that Gobostock does not control.
If you are paid through Stripe, completing payout setup or requesting a cash-out also means you agree to the Stripe Connected Account Agreement.
Creator earnings remain denominated in USD. Gobostock does not convert marketplace earnings into generation credits. Credits in your studio wallet are a separate product balance and cannot be withdrawn as cash.
Your earnings balance
Your earnings balance is Gobostock's record of the Creator Share it owes you under these terms. It is an unsecured contractual obligation of Gobostock, paid from Gobostock's general funds. It is not a deposit, an account with a bank or payment institution, stored value, or electronic money; it is not held in trust or in a separate account for you; it earns no interest; and it cannot be sold, transferred, assigned, or pledged.
Gobostock pays only to a payout account held in the name of the contributor on your account and tax form: your own name, or your company's name if you contribute as a company. Gobostock does not pay third parties on your behalf.
Holds and reviews
Gobostock screens the names, addresses, and countries in your payout details and tax form against US government sanctions lists before paying you and whenever those lists change. Gobostock may hold a cash-out or your balance while it verifies your identity, tax form, or payout details; while it reviews a possible sanctions match; while it investigates suspected fraud, a rights claim, or a breach of these terms; or when a law, court order, or government authority requires it. Unless the law does not allow it, Gobostock will tell you that a payout is on hold and what is needed to release it. Funds that US sanctions law requires Gobostock to block stay blocked until that law or the responsible authority permits their release.
Set-off and corrections
Gobostock may set off against your earnings any amount you owe it under these terms, including reversed earnings (Section 8), amounts paid to you in error, and amounts described in Section 10. If Gobostock pays you more than you are owed, you must repay the excess on request, and Gobostock may deduct it from later earnings. If Gobostock pays you less, it pays the difference once the error is confirmed. Please report a suspected error in your earnings within 12 months of the transaction concerned.
Closing your account and unclaimed balances
If your contributor account ends, you may ask support to pay your remaining available balance, after the pending hold, reversals, and any set-off, even if it is below the cash-out minimum, once your payout setup and tax form are complete. The cash-out fee, the sending cost, and any tax that must be withheld still apply.
Gobostock does not forfeit earnings for inactivity. If a balance cannot be paid because payout setup was never completed or you cannot be reached, it remains owed to you. After the dormancy period set by applicable unclaimed-property law, and after any notice that law requires, Gobostock may report and deliver the balance to the responsible state authority, from which you may claim it.
8. Refunds, chargebacks, and adjustments
If a sale is refunded, charged back, duplicated, fraudulent, or otherwise reversed, the related creator earning is also reversed. Gobostock first removes pending or available earnings associated with that transaction.
If the affected earning was already paid, your ledger may carry a negative balance that is offset against future earnings. Gobostock will show the transaction and reason in your earnings history and may request repayment in cases of fraud, material breach, or an unresolved negative balance.
9. Delisting and termination
You may request that an asset stop accepting new individual licenses. Gobostock will process an ordinary delisting request within a reasonable period, normally no more than 30 days. Removal does not cancel valid licenses or paid products already sold or granted. Gobostock may retain protected copies only as needed to deliver and support those existing licenses and for legal, security, backup, and financial records.
Gobostock may reject or remove content, suspend selling, hold earnings, or terminate contributor access when reasonably needed for rights claims, policy breaches, fraud, sanctions, security, repeated quality problems, legal compliance, or platform safety. Where appropriate, we will provide a reason and a way to contact support.
10. Taxes and independent relationship
You are responsible for reporting and paying taxes on your earnings wherever you owe them. Creator Share includes any value-added, goods and services, or similar tax that may apply to your supply to Gobostock, and you are responsible for accounting for it.
Gobostock is a United States company, so US tax rules require a tax form from you before your first cash-out: IRS Form W-8BEN if you are an individual who is not a US person (you can complete it electronically in payout setup), Form W-8BEN-E if you are a company or other entity that is not a US person, or Form W-9 if you are a US citizen or US tax resident. US creators paid through Stripe give their US tax details to Stripe instead. A Form W-8 stays valid until the end of the third calendar year after the year you sign it, unless a change in circumstances makes it incorrect; you must then submit a new form within 30 days. Gobostock reviews each form, may reject one that is incomplete, inconsistent, or unreliable, and pauses cash-out until a valid form is on file.
US tax withholding
For US tax purposes Gobostock treats Creator Share as a royalty. Creator Share from a sale to a buyer whose billing address is in the United States, or whose country Gobostock cannot determine, is treated as income from US sources. If you are not a US person, US law generally requires Gobostock to withhold 30% of the US-source part of each cash-out, or a lower rate under an income tax treaty that you validly claim on your tax form. Creator Share from sales to buyers outside the United States is not subject to this withholding.
Gobostock sets the rate when it accepts your tax form, and shows it in your payout settings; a treaty may set a different rate for video than for images and audio. Gobostock applies the 30% rate where a treaty claim is incomplete or where it has reason to believe that a claim or form is unreliable. The tax withheld is deducted from your cash-out, shown before you confirm, and paid to the IRS on your behalf. The treaty article, rate, and income type prefilled in the electronic Form W-8BEN reflect how Gobostock reads the IRS treaty tables; they are not tax advice, and you are responsible for any treaty claim you certify.
Payments to US persons may be reported on Form 1099. If you do not provide a correct US taxpayer identification number, or the IRS instructs Gobostock to do so, Gobostock must apply backup withholding (currently 24%) to your payouts. Gobostock may also refuse or pause cash-out when required by law or by Stripe.
Annual tax statements
Each year Gobostock reports the payments and any tax withheld to the IRS and gives you a statement by the IRS deadline: Form 1042-S, by March 15, if you are not a US person, or Form 1099, by January 31, if you are a US person and the law requires one. Statements are sent electronically if you have agreed to that in your earnings settings, and otherwise by post to the address on your tax form. You can withdraw that agreement at any time.
You may be able to credit US tax withheld against tax in your country of residence, or to claim a refund from the IRS of tax withheld above the rate that applies to you. Once tax has been paid to the IRS, Gobostock cannot return it to you, except to correct its own error where US rules allow.
Accuracy of your tax information
You certify your tax form under penalties of perjury. If a tax authority assesses Gobostock for tax, interest, or penalties because tax that should have been withheld from your payments was not withheld, as a result of your form or information being false, incomplete, or out of date, you must reimburse Gobostock, and Gobostock may deduct the amount from your earnings.
You must keep your legal name, address, tax residence, and tax form current in payout setup and, if you are paid through Stripe, with Stripe. Gobostock stores payout details and tax forms encrypted and handles them as described in the Privacy Policy. These terms do not advise you on the IRS character of Creator Share.
You participate as an independent contributor. These terms do not create employment, agency, partnership, fiduciary, franchise, or joint-venture relationships, and they do not guarantee minimum work, sales, visibility, or compensation.
11. General terms
The disclaimers, limitation of liability, indemnity, governing law, dispute process, and other general provisions in the Gobostock Terms of Use also apply to contributor activity. You agree to defend and indemnify Gobostock against third-party claims arising from a breach of your submission warranties or unlawful content, to the extent permitted by law.
We may update these terms for legal, security, payment, or product changes. Material updates apply prospectively after notice and acceptance; the Creator Share snapshot on a completed purchase remains unchanged. If you do not accept an update, you must stop new submissions and may request delisting.
